2022 KNRC Presentation Award Winners Announced

The Awards Subcommittee would like to recognize several award winners during our 2022 Kansas Chapter of the American Fisheries Society business meeting held on February 3rd in Manhattan, Kansas (as part of the Kansas Natural Resource Conference).

Lucas (Luke) Kowalewski Past president

There were many great presentations at the 2022 Kansas Chapter of the American Fisheries Society meeting in Manhattan, Kansas (as part of the Kansas Natural Resource Conference). These meetings would not be as valuable without your willingness to share your research and management findings. We thank those presenters and encourage others to share their project outcomes at next years’ meeting. The winners of the 2022 awards are as follows:

Best Professional Presentation

Chris Steffen: Invasive carp management in Kansas

Best Student Presentation

Peter Pfaff: Farm ponds: build it and they will come, stock it and they won’t

Best Professional Poster

Michael Parr: Using environmental variables to predict Walleye catch during broodstock collection efforts
