2012 Annual Business Meeting

Wichita Airport Hilton, Salon IV

January 26, 2012  |  4:30 - 6:00 pm

 Good morning,
I want to take this opportunity to invite you to the 37th annual meeting of the Kansas Chapter of the American Fisheries Society.
The meeting will be held on Thursday January 26 from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm in the Salon IV meeting room at the Airport Hilton, Wichita, KS.
Some of the primary topics to be discussed at this years meeting will be:
Midwest Fish & Wildlife meeting to be held in Wichita, KS
Disbursement of pre-determined amount to help students in the chapter offset the cost of attending KNRC.
There has already been discussion pertaining to this topic, one of the preliminary ideas presented by a member was as follows:
1) Start with $500
2) Funds will be divided by undergrads from any school that attend the meeting and request reimbursement. Maybe have a maximum amount ($50/each) in case only a few students show up.
3) Undergraduate students present their registration receipt and mailing address at the business meeting. It also might be good to require students to help sell tickets.
4) KSAFS Treasurer or KS subunit determines how many students and then divides funding among those students.
5) Check is mailed to each student.
This has not been voted on, but is a good start to continuing and hopefully resolving the discussion pertinent to this topic.
We will also be holding officer elections at the meeting. If you know of someone who is interested in running for any of the positions that will be open, please encourage them to do so and nominate them at the meeting. We will hopefully have two nominees for the position of President-elect and will open the floor to further nominations at meeting time.
If there are other topics that you wish to discuss at the meeting, either get in touch with me or be prepared to present them at the meeting.
Looking forward to seeing you all in Wichita!
